We are big pizza fans at our house and in fact if I had to choose one food to eat for the rest of my life it would definitely be pizza. We love checking out all the yummy pizza places in Portland. We were going out with some friends to celebrate my birthday and I was in the mood for pizza. It was my birthday so I got to choose!
When I did a little web search I came across Life of Pie. A newer place in town. We decided to give it a try and I’m glad we did.
They serve wood fired pizza.
Two guys with a passion for pizza, each leading their own separate life of pie. Restaurateur Jason Kallingal learned the farm to table way and wood fired cooking while interning in Tuscany. Pizzaiolo Nick Burger discovered his love for experimenting with pizza dough in an attempt to recreate a taste of home while living abroad in Spain. They met in Portland and 30 batches of dough later, Life of Pie was born.
Life of Pie is a neighborhood pizza restaurant located at 3632 N Williams in Portland.
They used locally sourced ingredients and sustainable flour. They regularly visit local farmer’s markets for fresh ingredients.
I loved the decor which included lots of reclaimed wood and vintage pizza making tools.
We went with friends and ordered four different pizzas. We ordered the Margherita with mozzarella, tomato and basil, Fennel Sausage and Lil’s Peppers, Sausage and the Seasonal Mushroom with Shaved pecorino romano with truffle oil. I am not a mushroom fan but my husband LOVED this one!
The menu also includes salads and spaghetti. They also serve dessert or you can check out the yummy local ice cream shop just a few doors down.
They were all delicious and service was great. Just wish it was closer to home!
